This one-day training is available both virtually and in person. It’s designed to equip you with evidence-based strategies for co-regulating heightened behaviours through a deepened understanding of trauma and its effects on self-regulation.

You’ll gain practical strategies and resources you can implement today, including a wide range of regulation strategies and a support plan template. The course culminates with dynamic role plays featuring actors to help you confidently apply your new skills in real-world scenarios.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completing this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Articulate the foundational concepts of trauma theory with a focus on individuals in particularly heightened states.
  2. Understand and implement de-escalation strategies that focus on bottom-up regulation.
  3. Understand and implement co-regulation strategies.
  4. Understand and utilise negotiation skills to navigate a safe outcome for both the professional and the individual.
