Kim Wood, a 20-year leader in youth mental health, offers coaching and mentoring. She emphasizes self-care and sustainable practices while guiding positive change. She is an International Coach Federation-certified coach committed to ongoing learning and client support.

Kim Wood is a professional coach, mentor and consultant with over 20 years of leadership experience in youth mental health, community youth services and primary health services, holding a range of senior and executive roles, including:

  • CEO of a Division of General Practice (precursors of Primary Health Networks)
  • Chief Operating Officer of Whitelion Youth Services
  • Director, Clinical Programs with Orygen, The National Centre of Excellence in Youth Mental Health
  • Headspace’s National Head of Centre Services

At Orygen, Kim was responsible for delivering and developing clinical youth mental health services in the north and west of Melbourne. This included the development of a comprehensive new service model, overseeing all aspects of establishing two new headspace centres (Werribee and Craigieburn) and ongoing management of established centres, headspace Sunshine and Glenroy, delivering services to over 5000 young people annually.

At Whitelion, she held responsibility for service operations, development and delivery, including outreach, case management, alternative education and youth leadership programs across five states.

As a consultant, she has facilitated Board strategic planning processes, developed business plans, trained teams and community groups in effective communication and integration, and written many successful tender and grant applications.

Kim has coached and mentored CEOs, leaders, managers, school principals, frontline workers, entrepreneurs and artists for the past sixteen years. Through this work, she has honed her skills in guiding frontline workers, aspiring and experienced leaders and managers to effect positive change in their workplace, community and personal life. With direct experience working in high-pressure roles, she firmly believes in the importance of sustainable work practices and self-care.

Kim’s approach to coaching is engaging, authentic, and values-based, and her coaching toolbox includes conflict management, narrative coaching, and organisational system dynamics practices. An International Coach Federation certified coach, she is committed to continuous learning and development to give her clients the best possible support.
